The blend is different from the previous vintage with Merlot being the leading variety. A great Merlot is characterized by soft tannins and ripe plums and cherry aromas, Malbec brings in more fruit with hints of violets and cassis; the Cab. Franc adds the “Bordeaux” essence. With more air the wine shows a complex yet still in developing stage aromas and flavors of cocoa, cinnamon, toast and maple. The mouth feel is medium to full with relatively dense tannins with long and juicy finish. Drink now through 2022. Cheers.
