TRENTADUE

2017 OPR SAUVIGNON BLANC

This year we made our Sauvignon Blanc more in the more “grassy” style on purpose - with citrus and apple fruit and traces of melon and apricot aromas. The body is leaner and focused, with low alcohol, finishing on refreshingly high notes of acidity and minerality. The wine was slowly fermented at cold temperature to preserve more of the aromatics and acidity as well as achieving fuller and viscous body. The wine was aged “sur lie” (on the lees) for about 5 months for additional complexity and richer mouthfeel. No oak was used during the aging. Enjoy this wine chilled with your favorite sea food or fruit and cheese plates. Cheers!

2016 OPR Red Blend

The 2016 OPR Old Patch Red is predominately Zinfandel, belnded with Petite Sirah, Carignane and Syrah, resulting in a very fruity yet complex and full-bodied Rhone-Style wine. The wine is dark red in color with intense black cherry aromas, blueberries and cherry cola as an immediate impression. With aeration, nuances of ripe plums, vanilla and cocoa show with a slight does of oak. On the mouth the wine is fresh and juicy, with youthul brightness, finishing long and fruity.

2016 ZINFANDEL

This wine is bright and lively with concentrated aromas of dark cherry, blueberry and plum and some of the typical raisin aromas. The judicious fine oak barrel aging brings in subtle aromas of vanilla, brown sugar and slight toast. The mouth feel is solid, with medium to full body and very soft and elegant tannins that accentuate the wine's long and juicy finish.

2015 LA STORIA CUVEE 32

Our 2015 La Storia Cuvee 32 is the 18th vintage of this blend for Trentadue Winery. It is dark red in color, with bright fruit and firm acidity with well-structured tannins destined to age well. The 2015 vintage has aromas of intense cherry and cassis followed by deeper red fruit aromas of plums, blueberry and a hint of pomegranate. The mouth feel is medium to full with relatively high, food friendly acidity and a long and fresh finish.

The wine is bright and lively with concentrated "Zini" aromas; predominately dark cherry, blueberry, plum with some typical raisin. The fine oak barrel aging brings in subtle aromas of vanilla, maple, cinnamon and slight toast and smokiness. The mouth feel is solid with medium body and very soft, elegant tannins that accentuate the wine's long and juicy finish.

2015 LA STORIA MERLOT

This is a fine example of the ability of this classic Bordeaux variety to make solid, tasty and age-worthy wines. The main aromas and flavors are of dark cherries, plums, a bit of black licorice and herbs. The new oak contributes a touch of vanilla, brown sugar, cocoa dust and slight toast. On the mouth the wine is almost heavy but the acidity and tannins are balanced for such a young wine.

2015 LA STORIA CABERNET SAUVIGNON

This is an age-worthy wine, showing abundant varietal aromas and flavors of blueberry, blackberry and black licorice, with a hint of herbs and ripe olives. The predominantly French oak aging contributes aromas of vanilla, cocoa dust and slight toast. The mouth feel is medium dense, fresh and juicy with balanced acidity and very soft tannins for a young wine.

2015 LA STORIA PETITE SIRAH

Our 2015 Petite Sirah has a very dark, opaque color, beautiful nose of concentrated blue berries and blackberries that leads to a full body mouth feel with engagingly soft tannins. After short aeration, the nose opens up with the addition of cocoa, slight earthiness followed by brown sugar and a touch pf vanilla-contribution of the new oak barrels.  Overall the aromas are of fresh dark fruit and very attractive..  This wine will definitely age well and if stored properly it will give the most enjoyment in 5 - 8 years.

CHOCOLATE AMORE

Borrowing from the traditions of port making, we add neutral grape spirits to stop fermentation, trapping a percentage of sugar in the wine. Once Chocolate Amore is finished aging and is ready for bottling, we infuse a tiny amount of natural chocolate extract to the final blend, creating the perfect marriage of food and wine.
